Let Us Mourn Mac Miller and Quit Blaming Ariana!

Here we are a week later and we're still in shock over the sudden passing of Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller.
When TMZ broke the news on Friday, social media exploded and people began saying the typical things that most say when an artist died unexpectedly.
"I didn't know he was wrestling with those demons," or "He was about to go on tour next month," and of course, he had just released a new album entitled Swimming.
In the midst of all of the thoughts and prayers that we were sending to his family and friends, the finger somehow got pointed in ex-girlfriend, Ariana Grande's direction.
It was no secret that Mac Miller suffered from substance abuse issues and it took a toll on his relationship with Grande, who broke things off in May of this year.
Now I'll admit that when the nature of Mac's death broke into the headlines, I immediately thought that while Ariana was not fully to blame, she was a factor in his death. When dealing with addiction, the addict needs to know that he has a support system that will pick him up on his lowest days. I blindly assumed that Ariana did not bother to care about Mac and his recovery.
He got busted for a DUI and knocking over a power line in the same month that they broke up and she went off and got engaged within a month.
Shows how much she cares right?
Wrong.
What we didn't know was that behind the scenes, Ariana was constantly helping Mac on his road to recovery. After a while, one has to say enough is enough and make the decision to leave for themselves.
Of course she would not wish death on him even though she walked away. I'm sure she worried about him even after they went their separate ways.
Grande took to Instagram to share a caption-less photo of Mac and to avoid the negative commentary, she turned the comment feature off.
Mac, we cannot pretend to understand the battles that you had to deal with on a daily but as a fan, we hope that you have found the peace that you were searching for in your waking life.
If you claim to be a true Mac fan, let Ariana grieve as you grieve and give her the peace that she deserves. In a time of grief, negativity is the last thing anyone deserves.
